The Solar Basic Training qualification is ideal for entry-level positions in the industry, such as labouring on a Solar site.

If you’re looking to start your career in the solar industry, then look no further! This course provides each participant with an awareness through theoretical and practical training. This course is designed to make sure workers are aware of dangers and potential risks when working on a solar installation. You will also gain a basic understanding of how a panel fitter will fit, install and test solar photovoltaic system components.

What can this course lead to?

If you wish to advance up to a managerial or supervisory role in solar, we advise you to sit the CITB Site Manager Supervisor Training Scheme or the CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme, both of which are available at Complete Training Solutions.

Delegates must have a basic level of reading and writing in order to complete the course and must provide valid photographic ID such as a Passport or Driving Licence. The course is run in English and as such you must have an appropriate level of fluency in order to participate. Course material is provided.

These courses must be refreshed every 2 years by successfully completing a Solar Basic Training Module Refresher course

Delegates will complete a written multiple choice examination at the end of each module. Delegates must then complete the online touch screen test in order to apply for their CSCS Green Card.

A CSCS Green Card is mandatory for everyone wishing to work on-site. For those who do no not have a CSCS Green Card, you will also need to complete a CITB Health & Safety Awareness course to work on-site. The CITB course adds an additional day of training to the course.
