Course Information

If you’re looking to start or develop your career in the renewable and wind energy industry and gain a Global Wind Organisation accreditation, then look no further! The GWO Fire Awareness training course provides each participant with fire awareness through theoretical and practical training. Everyone in the wind industry is expected to hold a valid, in date GWO Fire Awareness certificate which must be refreshed every 2 years.

You will need to complete a medical assessment form to screen any medical issues you may have.

The course covers techniques and procedures which may need to be carried out in emergency situations which may involve dealing with fires. The training deals with fire situations in various environments and ensures learners are taught the importance of following procedures and regulations whilst working in these hazardous environments within the renewable energy industry.

Our centre is fully equipped with real-world training environments designed to make sure you are aware of emergency procedures if confronted with situations involving fire.

Delegates will complete practical and written multiple-choice assessments as part of the GWO Fire Awareness.

The certificate will be valid for another 2 years. You can do your Refresher Course with us too!

You should complete the rest of your GWO Basic Safety Training:

  • GWO Working at Height & Rescue.
  • GWO First Aid.
  • GWO Manual Handling.
  • GWO Sea Survival.

If you want a career in offshore rope access, then you should complete your IRATA Rope Access Level 1 Certificate.

  • You will need to complete a medical assessment form to screen any medical issues you may have.
  • Must be 18 or over.
  • Must have an appropriate level of English.
