Generic Portable Power Ascender Equipment Lift Basic Training

Course Information

The purpose of this course is to provide a thorough introduction to a Portable Power Ascender to delegates, allowing for a good understanding of the function, pre use check and the
correct care of the batteries. Through this course, delegates will learn how to operate the Portable Power Ascender and familiarise themselves with the standard equipment lifting setups and their general applications.

Our Actsafe Equipment Lifting Training including ACX Power Ascender training is applicable for  personnel using this equipment as part of their present role.

  • Typical fields of application for ACX ascenders
  • Explain ACX ascenders approvals
  • Explain why and when ACX ascenders must not be used
  • Explain the ACX safety guidelines
  • Perform an introduction of an ACX ActSafe ascender and describe all parts and controls and its functions
  • Explain how to take best care of the ACX battery and how they work in relation to the ascender
  • Explain and demonstrate a pre use check of the ascender
  • Explain and demonstrate the starting of the ascender
  • Perform safe and appropriate rigging according to local regulation and best practice
  • Explain and demonstrate correct rope feeding into the ascender
  • Explain and demonstrate safe and correct operation of the ACX ascenders
  • Explain and demonstrate the 4 equipment lifting setups and what are they used for and what the advantages and disadvantages of each particular setup
  • Demonstrate a change between setups while maintaining a 100% tie off of ascender and equipment
