If you are completely new to the industry let’s start off with the basics. For instance, what does GWO stand for? GWO is the Global Wind Organisation, it is a non-profit body funded by wind turbine manufacturers and owners. To ensure safety in the industry the GWO have set common international standards. GWO training and certification, the standards create the requirements for GWO training courses.
Did you know? An estimated 10% of the global wind workforce is now trained to the GWO standards. 
A GWO certification provides the evidence that you have the basic knowledge and skills required to work in the wind and renewables sector. You must refresh your certificate every 2 years to continue working offshore.
Firstly, you should achieve the Basic Safety Training. This consists of the GWO Working at Height and Manual Handling, GWO Fire Awareness, GWO Sea Survival, GWO Manual Handling and GWO First Aid modules. These can be studied as a package or individually.
