The course teaches people to recognise the signs that someone may need support with their mental health and offer help on a first aid basis.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for those who want to gain the necessary skills to have a non-judgmental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.
Many people are unsure how to respond to someone who appears to be experiencing a mental health problem. This course gives people the knowledge and confidence to recognise mental health problems, to respond helpfully and support the person’s recovery.
A trained Mental Health First Aider in your workplace can start productive conversations about mental health, be a role model for how to manage mental health, promote greater understanding of the importance of mental health, and play a significant part in ending stigma and discrimination around mental health in the workplace.
There is no formal assessment for this course but delegates must complete all sections of the course.
