Local renewable energy and construction training provider, Complete Training Solutions (CTS) has welcomed the plans for a multi-gateway, multi-model Freeport in the Liverpool City Region. The development will enable sites across the region to attract new investment. Additionally, this will create jobs, increase innovation, and support the wider economy. The plans received an overwhelming amount of support from Liverpool City Region LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and local business leaders.
Building on the city’s proud maritime heritage, the development will represent a major opportunity for future investment and job creation. With future opportunities in offshore wind, tidal power, and hydrogen. The development will bring the City Region to the forefront of the Government’s Net Zero ambitions and is set to attract a skilled renewables workforce onto the City’s shores. 
Last year the Government outlined plans for a Green Industrial Revolution that promises to transform life across the UK. The ten-point plan is set to create and support 250,000 green jobs. Moreover, attracting advanced fuels specialists to the shores of the North West. Merseyside has already become synonymous with green technology and the jobs it brings. The Government’s Green Industrial Revolution plans, along with the Freeport bid, offers a glimmer of hope and prosperity for the region. This effort is fuelling innovation and job creation for skilled workers. But with an increased demand for renewables workers on the horizon, how can the city prepare to meet the skills demand?
