GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher (ART-R)

Course Information

The aim of the ART-R Standard is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from the ART training as well as working at heights and manual handling training through theoretical and practical training.

Training in accordance with this ART-R standard will enable participants to perform entry-type injured person rescue operations, in a WTG, using industry standard rescue equipment, rescue methods and techniques.

GWO Advanced Rescue Refresher

Advanced Rescue Training Refresher (ART-R) standard teaches safety procedures for high-risk rescue operations. The GWO ART Combined Refresher course also provides delegates with a renewed GWO Manual Handling and GWO Working from Heights certification.

The GWO Advanced Rescue Training Refresher Standard is divided into the following 2 modules:

Module 1: Hub, Spinner and Inside Blade Rescue Refresher

Module 2: Nacelle, Tower and Basement Rescue Refresher

Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields and will have their duties in a wind
turbine environment.

Personnel that may need or is selected by their employer to perform advanced rescue or lead an advanced
rescue operation, where training according to one or more modules of the GWO Advanced Rescue Training
Standard may mitigate the identified risks.

All individuals participating in Advanced Rescue Refresher  Training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating. Pre-requisites include valid:

  • GWO ART – Nacelle, Tower and Basement;
  • GWO Working at Heights;
  • GWO First Aid;
  • GWO Manual Handling

The certificate will be valid for 2 years. GWO qualifications can be renewed up to 60 days prior to expiry date. If you choose to refresh with us sooner than your expiry date, excess timescale is added to your new ticket validity date.

Hub, Spinner & Inside Blade Rescue Refresher

Delivery of the HSIBR Refresher Module covers same content, duration, learning objectives as described in the initial HSIBR Module of the ART Standard.

The Hub Rescue Module training can consist of first-time participants and refresher participants in the same classroom. The training is designed to allow the more experienced participants to contribute more actively and share their knowledge with the refresher participants.

 

Nacelle, Tower & Basement Rescue Refresher

The aim of this module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills from the ART Nacelle, Tower & Basement Rescue Module as well as the BST Working at Heights and Manual Handling Modules to enable the course participants to perform injured person rescue operations in a WTG nacelle, tower, and basement, by using industry standard rescue equipment, methods, and techniques, exceeding those of GWO BST Working at Height.
