Course Information

The City & Guilds Level 2 Award in High Risk Confined Spaces course (6160-03) is ideal for workers who operate as part of a team working in high risk confined spaces. The course will incorporate practical learning that will equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to practice safe working in high risk confined spaces on land or water. 

This confined space course was formerly City & Guilds Certification ‘6150-53’.

High Risk Confined Space

High Risk Confined Space training courses at level 2 are suitable if you are new to the industry and you are looking to develop your skills.

The course is made up of practical and theoretical learning, using real-world environments to help leaners develop an awareness of the safety practices required when working in high risk confined spaces. Delegates will gain an understanding of the relevant industry standards and procedures.

  • Valid in-date photo ID e.g. Driving License or Passport
  • Appropriate work boots
  • Overalls will be provided on the day

Assessments in the High Risk Confined Space Course are conducted in a practical environment and aim to identify delegates understanding and awareness of the safety procedures required to work safely in high risk confined spaces.

The Confined Space High Risk Course is designed for workers who operate as part of a team within a high risk confined space. A high risk confined space is defined as a space where there are access issues, and there is a high probability of encountering specific risks, where the use of oxygen masks may be required.

You could already be working in a number of roles, for example:

  • Underground engineer
  • Water distribution/Sewerage process operator
  • Water jetter
  • Water/Wastewater treatment plant operator
