In the latest annual report by the GWO (Global Wind Organisation), Liverpool-based renewables and construction training provider, Complete Training Solutions (CTS) has been ranked as the second-largest standalone training provider in the UK for the number of GWO modules delivered last year.
Currently, CTS has an 11% market share in the UK amongst 48 other training providers. The UK market makes up 25% of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) territory, and EMEA accounts for 76% of the overall worldwide GWO market. Which means it is no surprise CTS ranked as the fifth-largest GWO training provider worldwide.
Before COVID-19 struck, GWO training volumes in the first quarter of 2020 were 10% higher than during the same period in 2019. As lockdown restrictions came into place participation fell significantly due to the national lockdowns and restrictions. CTS and other training providers had to adjust their operations to comply with national guidelines, without compromising on quality. Training requirements were modified to allow for more flexibility, social distancing and frequent symptom checks.
During a year of turmoil and uncertainty, the team at CTS remained resilient, continuing to deliver their GWO training and readying the renewables workforce to meet the current and future demands of this booming industry, which is set to grow by 10% in 2021, compared to 2019. Complete Training Solutions, COO, Danielle Kershaw said;
‘’I am thrilled that CTS have been ranked as the second-largest GWO provider in the UK, and fifth globally. The last twelve months have been a difficult time for renewables training providers, but we have a brilliant team here who were able to adapt our delivery without compromising on quality.
“To support our employers and delegates, we delivered courses in the evening and even at the weekend to meet the demands. We refused to let Covid-19 prevent us from supporting the renewables workforces both nationally and internationally.’’
‘’We pride ourselves on providing a training programme that prepared delegates for any challenges they may face on the job. Our state-of-the-art facility allows us to create real-world scenarios that equip learners with the skills and knowledge to embark on their careers in the renewables sector. On the GWO Basic Safety Training Course for example, one day our delegates will be practicing first aid from our Brunswick Dock site, and the next they may be in our dock for their Sea Survival training.’’
The training provider continues to welcome delegates through their doors and as the Government’s green agenda grows in momentum, CTS expects to see a further surge in demand, as individuals re-skill themselves to work in another industry or enter into the jobs market for the first time.
