Who is the course suitable for?
The course is intended for inspectors, operators and people working within surface treatment and painting, personnel working with constructions to be protected and technical personnel in charge of surface treatment.
What is covered in the course?
The education is based on lectures, demonstrations, practical use of instruments and group work – providing training of practical work. This way the participants have the possibility of going more in depth of the different subjects.
Candidates must attend 80 hours of course learning, as well as complete a theoretical and practical examination. Some homework completion is expected during the course.

- Materials and design
- Corrosion
- Substrates for paints/coatings
- Ambient conditions
- Paints and coatings
- Requirements for the execution of the work
- Standards, specifications and procedures
- Inspection work/role of the inspector
- Health, environment and safety.

There are three levels of the Surface Treatement Course, each which may be attained according to differing levels of experience and achievement. For more information, click the button below.
Inspector candidate certificate level I - a person who has attended the course and passed the examination, but without relevant experience
Inspector certificate level II - a person who has attended the course and passed the examination, with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Inspector certificate level III - a person who has attended the course and passed the examination, with at least 3 years relevant experience, in addition to the requirements of level II whereof minimum 2 years are
documented inspection experience.
